Brightside Homes

Brightside is a Vancouver-based non-profit that has been active for over 60 years, its mission is to provide affordable homes to those who need it most. While our origins began with homes for seniors, we now also provide homes for people with disabilities and families, two groups that can be unfairly impacted by the housing affordability crisis that Vancouver is facing.
Back in 2017, Brightside conducted a survey to further understand the needs of our residents. One of the biggest barriers many expressed were the barriers to health-related resources they required. With this concern in mind, Brightside developed an application to provide access and information about the local Vancouver area that can hopefully improve quality of life to those in need.
This mobile application will serve as a centralized platform for information and resource sharing amongst our resident population, the majority of which are seniors over 60 years of age. This application could be downloaded onto a mobile or tablet device which will then be displayed within our buildings for residents to use or access on their personal devices. There will be no sign-in requirement and no fee for the use of the app.
